Four paper fighters brawl on a floating island

What is a platform fighter?

A platform fighter is a fighting game played on floating platforms. Hits raise a damage percent instead of draining health, the higher your percent the farther you fly, and you lose a stock when you are knocked off the stage.

The genre is simple to start and deep later. If you have played Smash-style games or Brawlhalla, the rules will feel familiar. AllBrawl is an independent game and is not affiliated with them.

What AllBrawl has

Damage and knockbackPercent goes up with each hit. Knockback grows with percent and shrinks with the target's weight.
Stocks and blast zoneThree stocks by default. Leave the screen edge and you lose one, then respawn on a floating platform.
MovementRun, jump, double jump and air control, so you can fight your way back to the island.
DefenceShield (a well-timed one parries), dodge and grab.
AttacksLight and heavy attacks by direction, charged heavies, a special and a finisher with a freeze-frame.
Players2 to 8: versus computer (levels 1 to 9), same screen, brawl, or online rooms.
ControlsKeyboard and mouse, or a gamepad. On-screen buttons on phones.

What is different from other platform fighters

  • You bring the fighter. Instead of a fixed cast, you type any phrase and the AI draws a fighter in about 30 seconds.
  • It is made of paper. A 3D paper diorama, felt clouds, brass pins and hits that tear and puff.
  • It opens in a tab. Send a link and friends are in the same match.

Who is it for?

Players who want a quick platform fighter without installing anything, groups who want something silly for a party, and anyone curious what a "grumpy cactus in boxing gloves" does to a lava dragon.

Platform fighter: questions

What is a platform fighter?

A platform fighter is a fighting game played on floating platforms. Hits raise a damage percent instead of draining a health bar, and the higher your percent, the farther the next hit launches you. You lose a stock when you are knocked off the stage.

Is there a free platform fighter that runs in the browser?

Yes, AllBrawl. It runs in a current desktop or phone browser with no download, supports 2 to 8 players, and the browser version is free to try.

Is AllBrawl a Smash Bros. clone?

No. It follows the same genre rules, but it is its own game with its own world, rules and fighters, and every fighter is drawn by AI from a phrase you type. It is not affiliated with Nintendo or any other publisher.

Can I play it on a phone?

Yes, with on-screen buttons. A gamepad or keyboard is more comfortable for longer sessions.

Is there a computer opponent?

Yes, with 9 difficulty levels. Level 1 is easy, level 9 is hard.

Will there be a Steam version?

A paid Steam version is planned. There is no date yet; join the waitlist and you get one email when it is live.
